ChatGPT Ads Reach Calculator

ChatGPT Ads are live.

The platform is still new. There is no reach or audience-size reporting for the context hints you configure in ChatGPT Ads. Those hints are your targeting. Get the intent wrong and the ads will not stay profitable.

This calculator estimates audience size, CPC, and click-volume budget bands from the hint you paste below, so you can sanity-check intent depth before you launch a campaign.

Run an estimate

Paste a context hint describing your audience. Results appear under the form once you submit.

Same kind of description as in ChatGPT Ads: conversations, topics, or keywords where your offer may be relevant. Matching uses hints, not exact keywords. This tool estimates whether that description implies enough search demand to matter, or if you are likely too narrow.

How it works

  1. We read your hint.A language model breaks it into the audience description, the buyer's industry, where they are in the buying journey, and 3-6 short Google search phrases that match the same intent.
  2. We pull live keyword data. Each phrase is checked against DataForSEO's Google keyword index for the US in English. We get back real monthly search volume and average CPC for each phrase.
  3. We estimate audience size.Total monthly searches multiplied by 3 to 8, because one person typically searches the same idea several times across a buying cycle. We then nudge the number based on the buyer's industry, since B2B buyers search the same thing fewer times than mass-market consumers do.
  4. We estimate CPC. The shown range is the 25th and 75th percentile of CPC across your keywords, weighted by search volume so a single rare-but-expensive keyword cannot blow the range up. We then knock 30 to 55 percent off the Google number because ChatGPT Ads sees less auction competition than Google today.
  5. We size budgets by clicks. Test buys ~100 to 300 clicks at the expected CPC, validate buys ~600 to 1,500, scale targets 3,000 plus. So the dollar amounts stretch when CPCs are high and shrink when CPCs are low, instead of being arbitrary round numbers.
  6. We flag thin data honestly. If Google volume is low, or fewer than two of your keywords return any matches, the result gets a “low data” badge instead of pretending to be precise. Common for new ChatGPT-native topics that have not reached Google yet.
  7. We cache identical hints for 7 days. Re-running the same paste returns the cached result without billing the keyword API a second time.

FAQ

What does this calculator estimate?
Paste the same text you would put into the Context hints field in ChatGPT Ads. The calculator maps it to 3-6 short Google search phrases, pulls live US English search volume and CPC for each, then returns audience size, a CPC range, and click-volume budget ladders so you can sanity-check intent before spending.
Why does it use Google Ads data, not ChatGPT Ads data?
ChatGPT Ads is new and there is no public reach or CPC API. Live Google search volume and CPC are the closest available signal for the same intent. When Google volume is thin, the result is flagged "low data" rather than guessed.
How accurate is the CPC?
The displayed range is the 25th and 75th percentile of CPC across your keywords, weighted by search volume so a single rare-but-expensive keyword cannot blow the range up. We then knock 30 to 55 percent off the Google number because ChatGPT Ads currently sees less auction pressure than Google.
How many free runs do I get?
Three successful estimates per anonymous browser session. Cached repeats of the same hint still count toward your three.
Is this financial or performance advice?
No. The output is a directional model to help you plan and pitch budget. It is not a guarantee of results or spend.
